Composition II
Course Expectations for Composition II:
This course meets one day per week for a full year. Using IEW strategies learned in Composition I, students will compose four (2-3 page) papers ranging from expository, compare/contrast to literary analysis and creative fiction. One-on-one tutor conferences provided on each paper. Opportunities to share students' writing in-class. All writing assignments correlate with the literature in Literature II course booklist. Teach MLA basic formatting for research papers. Writing assignments will be based on the reading assignments from Literature II and it is required that students take both classes at the same time.
Recommended for students in 8th-9th grade.
Prerequisite: Familiarity with the fundamentals of composition and a good grasp of English grammar; Comp. I
Corequisite: Required enrollment in Literature II
