Electronics
It is highly discouraged that any student have more than two free periods per day. If your student is in this situation, please consider taking more classes or rearranging your ride schedule.
The following Study Hall policies are in effect:
- The first 50 minutes of each period will be reserved exclusively for study. Students in this room must work on homework or read. Be prepared to do so.
- During this time, students will not be allowed to sit in groups.
- Backpacks are to be on the floor or a chair, not on the tables, and coats will be hung on the coat rack in the hallway.
- There needs to be at least one chair separating students from each other during silent study hall.
- All ARCHES policies and conduct rules apply to study hall times.
- The ARCHES discipline policy applies to inappropriate behavior during study hall time.
- Talking at a reasonable volume and quiet games will be allowed during the last 20 minutes of each study hall period.
- Those wishing to quietly study the last 20 minutes may do so in an unoccupied classroom.
Electronics
- As they grow in popularity, electronics have become a huge distraction in the study hall and, in some cases, classrooms. Therefore, no cameras, phones, or other electronic or music listening devices are allowed in ARCHES study halls or classrooms with the exception of laptops for schoolwork purposes in the study hall only.
- There will be no sharing of music and electronic games are not allowed under any circumstances.
- Laptops are allowed with a signed waiver from parent and administrator for schoolwork purposes only.
- Parents are responsible for setting up proper internet safety programs on students' computers as wifi codes are posted prominently in St Joseph's building.
- Laptops will be closely supervised by study hall monitors.
- Students who break this rule will have their electronics confiscated for the day.
