PERSONAL FINANCE
Course Expectations for Personal Finance: Mastering Your Wealth:
Recommended for students in 9th-12th grade
Ever wonder how some people seem to retire decades early, or how a single dollar can turn into a fortune over time? Do you want to master the "money game" before you even receive your first professional paycheck?
Welcome to Personal Finance: Mastering Your Wealth, a hands-on one semester course designed to turn the complex world of money into your greatest advantage. Instead of just reading about finance, you will dive into a high-stakes, real-world simulation using an online Personal Budget Game and Stock Market Game. You’ll manage a virtual life—balancing a career, paying bills, and building a high-performance investment portfolio in real-time.
Throughout this course, we will pull back the curtain on how wealth is actually built and protected. Beyond the simulations, you will master: the ten commandments of financial success; multiple streams of income; hidden financial costs; credit as a tool; and more.
Minimum Expectations:
ARCHES tutorial-based classes are designed to supplement course work being done in home schools, thereby following the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church in proclaiming parents as the primary educators of their children.
Prerequisites: none.
Books: none
Fees: (This is a one semester class)
